Quick Facts
Toronto & Kingston for 2008!For 2008, we will be running TAP at two separate locations: York University’s Glendon College in Toronto and Queen’s University in Kingston. Toronto is North America’s fifth largest city and is an exciting cosmopolitan centre that is often voted as one of the best cities in the world to live. Toronto offers its visitors absolutely everything in big city life in a safe and beautiful city. Everything from huge shopping malls to massive parks and an exciting night-life awaits visitors in Toronto. In contrast, Kingston is a pristine and well kept university city which offers students a Canadian experience second to none. Situated between Toronto and Ottawa, Kingston is a major port and is in close proximity to major landmarks such as the famous Thousand Islands. Kingston is also steeped in history and tradition. It is the resting place for Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first Prime Minister and the site for Fort Henry, a 19th century British military fortress. Both locations will have similar study programs; however, activities and outings will be tailored to the strengths of each city. For example, TAP students in Toronto will visit major attractions such as Canada’s Wonderland, Niagara Falls, the Toronto Eaton Centre and the Ontario Science Centre. Whereas TAP students in Kingston will get to tour the Thousand Islands, visit Fort Henry and have day trips to Ottawa and Montreal. For a complete schedule of activities, please download the 2008 TAP Activity Calendar. Whether you choose to enroll at Toronto or Kingston, you are sure to have the time of your life.
